Harold Robert (Bob) Munson passed away in Marionville, Missouri on January 6, 2019 after a short illness. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

 Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy McSpadden of Nixa, his parents, Earl Robert and Fairel Jenkins Munson of Crane, MO, and his brother Ralph Eugene of Columbia, MO. Bob is survived by his son Derek of Columbia, his brother Derril and sister-in-law Ethelene of Crane, his sister-in-law Dorothy of Columbia, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be deeply missed.

Bob was born in Crane, Missouri on November 25, 1934. He graduated from Crane High School and then from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He was a Corporal in the United States Army and the Army Reserve from 1957 to 1963. Bob work for the Federal Land Bank before retiring in the 1990s. He then went on to form an appraisal business with his brother Derril until his second retirement in 2009.

Bob and his family were long-time residences of Aurora, Missouri and then moved to August, Kansas in 1980. Upon returning to Missouri, Bob and Dorothy lived in Nixa, Missouri. Bob and his family were very active in the First Christian Church of Aurora and Augusta where he served as a Deacon for many years. Following his wife’s death, Bob became active at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Nixa. He dedication to the Lord and his life-long service to the church were among some of his greatest joys.

Bob and his wife were active in the Shrine for a number of years and Bob was the proud owner of a bright red Triumph TR3 that he drove in many Shriner’s parades. They were foster parents for a number of years and hosted two foreign exchange students. Bob loved to fish and hunt quail, he was a life-long golfer, and he never lost his passion for college basketball.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 10th, 2019, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Nixa, Missouri with Rev Dennis Miller officiating. Fellowship in the commons will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church Missions fund.
