Age: 67
Residence: Branson, MO
Formerly of: St. Louis, MO

Peggy Lynn (Riley) VerMeulen, born May 7, 1951, in St. Louis, MO, went home into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, December 22, 2018, in Branson MO, where she had lived since 1985. Her beloved husband Wayne preceded her in death in 2010. She was the daughter of Russell Hall and Magene Mitchell Riley, the sister of Donna Hearne, Ron Riley, Ruth Grote and the late Phyllis Horner.

She is survived by her children Kim (Ted) Acup, Michelle (Bryan) Snowden, James Williams, and many nieces and nephews. The light of her life, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were Elizabeth (Zach) McBee, Danielle (Nick) Kumming, Kiersten Snowden, Nathan Williams, Tanner Snowden, Andrew Acup, Riley Snowden, and Caden Snowden; great-grandchildren: Kale Pollard, Sawyer McBee, Hayden Kumming, Finley Pollard, and Hudson Kumming. She was preceded in death by great granddaughter Amelia Kumming.

Peggy’s love of animals was made possible growing up in Ladue at a time when there were open fields with horses next door and the ability to roam the creeks and woods. She used her artistic gifts as a substitute at Craig Elementary School and volunteered at the St. Louis Zoo. She was known for her menageries of lost and lonely animals and wounded finches. Growing up she loved her summers in Leland, MI, and always being in or on water, sailing or water skiing. When she lived in St. Louis, she was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, loved Bible Study Fellowship, and listened to Christian radio. We will miss her sparkling mind and mischievous laughter. Her body was donated to the Genesis program in Memphis, TN.  She will be missed greatly! To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com
