November 14, 1950 - September 18, 2018
Age: 67
Residence: Omaha, AR
Formerly of: Dover, NJ

Thomas “Tom” A. Woods, age 67, of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away September 18, 2018. He came into this world November 14, 1950, in Dover, New Jersey, the son of Lewis “Woody” Woods and Mary Catherine O’Brien-Woods. His parents and a brother, William Lewis Woods have preceded him in death. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Tom proudly served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed being in the outdoors while fishing, hiking, and camping. After he was born in New Jersey, he was raised in California, but lived much of his adult life in Missouri and Arkansas. Tom lived in the Branson/Omaha area for over 25 years and liked the rural setting. When the outdoors was not available, there was always an old western movie or the “Golden Girls” on tv.

While in California, Tom worked the oil fields. Seeking adventure and a cleaner lifestyle, Tom moved to the Midwest. He and his brother homesteaded near Ava, Missouri, where they built from scratch and ate from their garden. Tom worked in hardware and grocery stores for many years. Most recently, he worked in Country Mart’s produce department.

Tom’s health began a decline several years ago. The carcinogens from exposure to the oil field caused the onset of melanoma. Cancer, vascular disease, and blood pressure problems reduced his mobility.

Tom is missed by his loving family and friends.

Tom is survived by his “adopted dad”/ best friend, Duane Bolson of Lead Hill, Arkansas; nephew, William Shawn Woods of Springfield, Missouri; nephew, Scott Lauren Woods of California; niece, Dawndi Michelle Woods of Springfield, Missouri; nephew, Robert “Bob” (Bobbie) Lewis Woods of Walnut Grove, Missouri; grand-nephews, Levi Woods and Johnnie Woods; and grand-niece, Sara Woods.

A private family gathering will be planned at a later time to celebrate his life. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com
