James “Jim” Harold John Buscho, 80, was born on August 9th, 1937, in Faribault, MN to Harold and Lois (Knauss) Buscho.  He was raised on the family farm two miles west of Morristown, MN on old Hwy 60 along with his 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He attended Morristown High School. Jim served in the US Army from 1957-1959 and also several years in the MN National Guard. On December 20, 1957, he was married to Sharon Meschke at First Baptist Church in Morristown and they moved to El Paso, TX, where he was stationed for 2 years. Jim had an interesting and varied work history as a welder at Nutting Truck & Caster Co., Faribault; a serviceman for Zuehls Heating in WI; and for his father-in-law, Chet Meschke Heating in Morristown. He also worked in sales & service at Sears & Roebucks, owned Buscho Heating for 10 years before retiring from welding at Triple E Mfg in Medford in 1999.  Jim was a true “jack of all trades” and could fix anything!

Jim lived a rich full life and enjoyed many activities that included church song leader, singing in a quartet with his rich bass voice and trio with his wife & daughter, camping clubs, city council, Cox Hospital volunteer and most recently their condo association president.  Some of Jim’s favorite things included eating (especially pizza), chewing on a toothpick, wearing suspenders, playing dice with Sharon at meal times and reading a western.

Jim touched the lives of many with his love for the Lord, his quick wit, sense of humor, his laughter and great hugs. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help. He blessed many with handcrafted items from his woodworking shop, loved to play games and enjoyed many Branson shows. Jim and Sharon enjoyed many years of camping trips with their kids & grandkids and RVing with many friends around the country. He especially loved time in the Smoky Mountains at Vern & Kyme’s cabin the last few years.

Jim leaves many loving memories to be cherished by his wife Sharon, of 60 years, daughter Kyme (Vern) Aaseby of Bryson City, NC and son Briar (Jodi) Buscho of Ute, IA. He will be missed by four grandsons: Tim (Joy) Aaseby, Terry (Michelle) Aaseby, Skylar (Amanda) Aaseby and Rylan (Grace) Aaseby and granddaughter Brodi Buscho. Jim’s love for his family included his 19 great grandchildren: Isaiah, Josiah, Kaitlyn, Nicholas, Trevor, Savannah, Audrey, Austin, Malachi, Caden, Anayah, Zane, Theo, Oliver, Ezrah, Zuri, Judah, Journey and Soren. Jim leaves behind his sisters, Marilyn Smith and Carol Little and sisters-in-law, Diane Buscho and Sharon Kay Buscho. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold & Lois Buscho, sister Charlotte Morgan, brothers David and Lennis Buscho and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Jim will also be dearly missed by his ‘other kids’ Bruce and Lori Smith of Waterville, MN and their family.

After a brief illness, Jim went to be with his Jesus on Monday, May 14th, 2018. Services will be held on Saturday, May 19th at Friendly Baptist Church, 2751 Kirkland Drive, Branson, MO 65616. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. with memorial service at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch. Interment will be at a later date in Morristown, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Friendly Baptist Church, Branson, MO.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, visits and support in many heartfelt forms from too many people to name individually. We have truly been blessed by your kindnesses. The urn that Jim’s earthly remains will be held in nicely sums up how fondly he will be remembered: “Loving Husband and Father.”
